Vietnam, US share experience in pediatrics

NDO – The sixth Vietnam-United States Pediatrics Conference is taking place at Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi from March 30-31, featuring the participation of leading experts in pediatrics both domestically and internationally.

The event offers a platform for doctors to update knowledge and techniques and discuss experience in diagnosing and treating young patients concerning the topics of medical emergency, respiratory issues, neonatal care, hematologic diseases in children and poisoning.

Prof. Nguyen Gia Khanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Pediatric Association, affirmed that Vietnam’s health sector has recorded strong developments over the past years.

International cooperation in pediatrics was strengthened in an effective fashion, with many advanced techniques around the world having been successfully applied in Vietnam.

The maintenance of the periodic Vietnam-US Pediatrics Conference not only contributes to improving the expertise qualifications for doctors of Bach Mai Hospital but also provides a forum for discussion and experience sharing activities within the Vietnamese pediatric community, he noted.

The event also helps to expand Vietnam’s exchange and connection with the US, a leading country in pediatric treatment techniques, Khanh said, adding that through its five editions, presentations at the conference have become a valuable resource with high practicability which have been applied to medical examinations, treatment and applied research activities of the Vietnamese pediatric community.

The sixth conference will feature seven themes, including pediatric emergency – intravenous intervention; neonatal and fungal infections; digestion and drug abuse; blood coagulation disorders and treatment of hypotension; approaches to managing leg defects; pediatric nutrition and communication between family and doctors.
