Orbis Flying Hospital come to Can Tho for free eye surgery

From May 7-19, 2017, Orbis Flying Hospital and Eye and Facial and Odonto-maxilo Surgery Hospital in Can Tho will conduct screening and free eye surgery for children aged 3-15.
Starting May 7, 2017, Orbis officially launched the 2017 Flying Hospital Program in Can Tho City. The main operation is implemented in Can Tho Eye and Facial and Odonto-Maxilo surgenry Hospital and Can Tho Children Hospital. Orbis is a non-governmental organization active in the prevention of blindness in developing countries. This is the eighth time the Hospital flies to Viet Nam and is the first to launch the program in Can Tho.

The first Orbis Flying Hospital in Can Tho providing free eye surgery
The main objective of the Can Tho Flying Hospital program is to improve the capacity of Can Tho doctors and health workers in examining and treating ophthalmic diseases that are challenging for their work in eye care and prevention of blindness in Viet Nam.
From May 7th to May 19th, Flying Hospital and Eye and Facial and Odonto-maxilo Surgery Hospital Can Tho will conduct screening and then Flying Hospital together with medical team, doctors and leading experts will provide diagnosis, prescription, free surgery and treatment of eye diseases for patients from 3 to 15 years old.
According to the plan, Flying Hospital physicians will provide medical treatment to 12 patients and free eye surgery for 32 cases each year such as: eyelid surgery, cataract surgery and glaucoma.
In addition, the Flying Hospital also offers specialized training courses for anesthesia, nursing, and technician staff ... to transfer advanced ophthalmic care and treatment techniques to doctors and medical staff.
The Flying Hospital Program is the world's most advanced and unique ophthalmology training and practice model, with advanced medical facilities and the participation of the world's leading ophthalmologists. Prior to that, Flying Hospital had operations in Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Hanoi.
